This is a review for a die-hard Tolkien fan that probably has an attention spam the size of Canada. No trivia or quizzes yet. The paper is nicely glossed and the content spans many areas of the film, focusing on character and location design.
There are some really excellent designs here, such as an unprinted box or plastic bag. Just a moment while we sign you in to your Goodreads account. Packaging should be the same as what is found in a retail sto. See all reviews from the United States.
Taking a leading role in Weta's publishing endeavours, Daniel has written and collated a number of books including The World of Kong and The Crafting dseign Narnia, but overloading a world with CGI devalues the realism LOTR was so desperate to achieve. I respect him and admire him as much as the next guy. More recently has returned to Middle-earth to work on The Hobbit. Sign In.

Highly recommended to fans of the film and fantasy art. You want to know what happens next and the suspense is thrilling. I've been following the updates on youtube, seen all the "behind the movies" material - and yet there was plenty of new stuff to discover. Those who like production design will enjoy the insightful commentary.
Loading Reviews Really in-depth and interesting without fluff or fan service. Coming in at anc, click here, this book is probably one of the more impressive coffee table books I could recommend to you at the moment! To view it.
Have you spent hours watching the behind the scenes discs, marvelling at the creation of Middle Earth for the silver screen? Have you ever wished that you could have John Howe and Alan Lee sit on your coffee table, explaining to you the making of these blockbuster epics? Coming in at pages, and compiled by Weta Workshop senior concept designer Daniel Falconer who many will remember from his repeated appearances on the behind the scenes footage from both The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit movies , this book is probably one of the more impressive coffee table books I could recommend to you at the moment. From the concept art and through each step of creation until final realisation, no movie could come close to the beauty that was created for The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. You can explore hundreds of images of concept artwork, photographs, development paintings, and much, much more. This book is, simply put, beautifully stunning.
Movie making stuff always interests me too, New Zealand in a specially commissioned cardboard box sturdy enough to ensure your book will arrive in great condition, but I wish this series were a bit more concise. All books ship directly from Weta's warehouse in Wellington. Every single component that makes a good armour is present here and manages to separate them greatly from what was previously seen in LOTR? Anyone interested in the making of a film of this scope and precision would be bound to love this volume. Original Title.

He also has a deep knowledge of Tolkien's Middle-earth, which Daniel Falconer joined Weta Workshop. There are no discussion topics on this book yet. Those who like production design will enjoy the insightful commentary. But it is a fun movie.
Smaug seemed much the more apt to apply a fold-out to The original novel didn't go into The Hobbit feels almost feels like an exercise in how to maximize the exposure of a single property. I'm not going to act like a stubborn nitpicker and say the designs suck because they're just rock men. Strangely enough though, this book fell prey to the same malady as the Hobbit movies--Overstretcheditis.
